Benjamin Koppel, born on February 21, 1974, in Denmark, is a Danish jazz musician, music producer, author, saxophonist, and composer. He began his musical journey at a young age, releasing his debut album at 18. Koppel has since collaborated with notable musicians such as Chano Domínguez, Charlie Mariano, Larry Goldings, and Paul Bley. In 2001, he founded his own label, Cowbell. His discography includes albums like Hammond Street (2006) and At Ease (2008). Koppel has also worked with classical ensembles, big bands, and symphony orchestras. In 2007, he was awarded the Django d’Or as a Contemporary Star of Jazz. He also released the album, The Adventures of a Polar Expedition (2010) with Hans Ulrik, Jon Balke, Palle Danielsson, and Alex Riel.
