Beyond Dawn was a Norwegian avant-garde metal and electropop band formed in 1990 in Norway. The group consisted of Espen Ingierd, Petter Haavik, Tore Gjedrem, and Einar Sjursø. Their early recordings include the single “Up Through the Linear Shades” (1993) and the EP Longing for Scarlet Days (1994). Their debut album, Pity Love (1995), was released through Candlelight Records. The band’s style transitioned from doom metal to minimalistic electropop for the recordings Revelry (1998) and In Reverie (1999). Their discography includes the recordings Electric Sulking Machine (1999) and Frysh (2003). The ensemble became inactive in 2003. Subsequent releases include the remix album We’re Down with Species of Any Kind (2005).
