Lotion are an American indie rock band formed in 1991 in New York City's East Village. They consisted of brothers Bill and Jim Ferguson on bass guitar and guitar respectively, drummer Rob Youngberg, and vocalist/guitarist Tony Zajkowski. Lotion released their first two singles "Head" (1992) and "Tear" (1993) on Kokopop before debuting with the album full Isaac (1994) through spinArt Records. They toured extensively to promote full Isaac, performing alongside acts such as Pavement, Throwing Muses, and Mercury Rev. They released their second album, Nobody's Cool (1996), which featured liner notes by Thomas Pynchon. They performed on an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer in 1998 during the promotion of their third album, The Telephone Album (1998). After going on hiatus in 2001, Lotion reunited for performances at Royal Flush Festival (2011), Mercury Lounge (2012 and 2023), and DROM 30 (2023).
