Rubber City Rebels, an American punk band from Akron, Ohio, formed in 1976. Their breakthrough came in 1977 opening for the Dead Boys at CBGB, leading to a split album From Akron with the Bizarros. In 1978, they moved to Los Angeles and gained fame on the Sunset Strip. They signed with Capitol Records in 1980, releasing their self-titled debut album the same year. The band appeared in the 1982 movie The Assassination Game, performing "Born Dead" and "Rebel to the Rescue". They ceased touring in 1988 but reunited in 2001 for a tour and released a remastered version of Rubber City Rebels and Re-Tired. Their second studio album, Pierce My Brain, was released in 2003, with the track "(I Wanna) Pierce My Brain" featured on the soundtrack for the video game Tony Hawk's Underground.
