Pandit Manilal Nag (born August 16, 1939, in Bankura) is an Indian classical sitar player and a leading exponent of the Bishnupur gharana of Bengal. Nag received his training from his father, Gokul Nag, and performed a public debut at the 1953 All India Music Conference, accompanied by Samta Prasad. His international career included performances across the United States and Europe beginning in 1973 via the ICCR, as well as the 1979 Indian Ocean Art Festival in Australia. Nag served on the faculty of the ITC Sangeet Research Academy from 2005 to 2011. His recorded works include Raga Lalit, Classical Music of North India, and Ragas of Dawn (2020). Nag received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (2001), the Banga Bibhushan (2015), and the Padma Shri (2020). His daughter, Mita Nag, continues the family's six-generation musical tradition.
