American soundtrack composer Max Aruj was born in Los Angeles on August 7, 1989. Trained in classical and jazz piano from the age of six, he went on to study music composition at the USC Thornton School of Music and began his career collaborating with renowned composers such as Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe, contributing to projects such as The Crown, His Dark Materials, Top Gun: Maverick, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One. As lead composer, Max Aruj has scored films such as Crawl (2019), Lansky (2021) and The Ice Road (2021). He also composed the music for the video game Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids and the animated series Mech Cadets. After the soundtrack for the film The Tank (2023), he goes on to score the documentary MoviePass, MovieCrash (2024) and the film Mission: Impossible: The Final Reckoning (2025), in collaboration with Alfie Godfrey. In addition to composing for the screen, Aruj produced Gryffin's orchestral album Gravity Deluxe.
