Hardknox is an English electronic music duo formed in 1996 by DJs Steve Proctor and Lindy Layton, the latter previously a member of Beats International. The pair first gained attention with the 1997 single "Coz I Can", which established their hard‑beat sound influenced by The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers. In 1999 they released their sole studio album Hardknox through Jive Records, featuring tracks such as "Fire Like Dis" and "Come In Hard"; the latter appeared in the video game Microsoft Rallisport Challenge and the film 3000 Miles to Graceland. Subsequent releases included the 2011 remix single "Gutterpump" (Matta Remix) / "Fire Like Dis" (Kinzy Remix). While the duo did not issue further albums, their music has been featured in films such as Me, MySelf and Irene and television series including La Femme Nikita, cementing their presence in late‑1990s and early‑2000s electronic culture.
