Mark Wingfield is an English guitarist and composer. He spent part of his childhood in the United States before returning to the UK. Largely self-taught, he also studied orchestration with Colin Huens and explored Western and non-Western classical music, including Indian, African, and Japanese traditions. Wingfield began performing in Europe with various groups, including SMQ and Scapetrace. His album releases include Proof of Light (2016) with Yaron Stavi and Asaf Sirkis, The Stone House (2016) with Markus Reuter, Stavi, and Sirkis, Lighthouse (2017) with Reuter and Sirkis, Tales From The Dreaming City (2018), and The Gathering (2024). He has collaborated with notable musicians such as Iain Ballamy, Gary Husband, Markus Reuter, Kevin Kastning, and Jeremy Stacey, and his compositions have been featured internationally in concerts, festivals, and academic workshops.
