Micatone, a nu jazz band from Berlin, Germany, was formed in 1999. The group consists of vocalist Lisa Bassenge and musicians Paul Kleber on double bass, Sebastian Hagen Demmin on keyboards, Boris Meinhold on guitar and synthesizer, and Tim Kroker on drums. All members contribute to programming. Their debut release was the Micatone EP in 2000, followed by their first full-length album, Nine Songs, in 2001. The band's breakthrough came with the release of Is You Is in 2003 and Nomad Songs in 2005. DJ and sound designer Rogall was involved in the production of these early albums. After a hiatus due to parallel projects, Micatone returned with Wish I Was Here in 2012 and The Crack in 2017.
