Pascal Niggenkemper is a German-French jazz musician. He initially learned violin and piano before switching to electric bass at age 16 and later to double bass. From 1999 to 2004, he studied jazz double bass at the Cologne University of Music under Dieter Manderscheid and, from 2002, classical double bass with Veit Schüßler. In 2005, he continued his studies in New York as a DAAD scholarship recipient at the Manhattan School of Music under Jay Anderson, earning his master’s degree. Early in his career, he performed in Los Angeles with Maria Schneider, Vince Mendoza, and Gonzalo Rubalcaba. In 2015, he released the solo album Look With Thine Ears. He has collaborated extensively with artists including Louis Sclavis, Wolfgang Puschnig, Gunther Schuller, Ingrid Schmoliner, Steve Slagle, John Butcher, and Gebhard Ullmann.
