Orixa is an alternative rock duo from the United States consisting of Rowan Jimenez and Juan Manuel Caipo. The band's music incorporated various styles including rock, reggae, hip hop, Brazilian music, funk, and Afro-Latin music. Orixa released their self-titled debut album Orixa in 1996 on Aztlan Records. In 2000, they followed up with <2012: Elegual Digital> on their own label, Elegua Records. The band received a California Music Award for Outstanding Latin Album and the ASCAP Latino Award for Best Independent Group in 2001. Their subsequent album, also titled Siembra, was released in 2004 and included the singles "Siembra" and "The American", both of which were featured on the television series Sleeper Cell. Orixa went on hiatus in December 2006.
