Formed in 1970 under the name Soul Twins, the funk, soul and boogie duo Patterson Twins consists of brothers Estus and Lester Patterson, originally from Magee, Mississippi. They signed with King Records and released two singles in 1973, followed by "To Be Lonely" for Ronn Records, before making their first album. Released on the Commercial label, this album, entitled Let Me Be Your Lover, enjoyed a late surge in popularity with successive reissues by Think! Records in 2013 and the UK label Acid Jazz in 2019. Its lead single, "Gonna Find a True Love", will even chart on the physical singles chart in 2026. The long-active duo released several other singles on different labels during the 1980s, as well as the albums If I Could Live My Life Again (2006) and Take Us Higher (2007).
