Neuman, a Spanish musical group from Murcia, was founded in 1998 by Paco Román. The band's minimalistic sound is rooted in shoegaze and post-rock genres. Neuman's first full-length album, Plastic Heaven, was launched in 2010 and received critical acclaim. The band toured extensively throughout Spain and Europe, performing at notable festivals such as Microsonidos, Wild Weekend Festival, Monkey Week, and the Benicassim International Festival. Their second album, The Family Plot, released in 2012, was hailed by Radio 3 as one of the best albums of that year. Collaborations with Ken Stringfellow on albums like Bye Fear/Hi Love (2013) and If (2014) further solidified their reputation. The song "Kids" from If was used in a UNICEF campaign spot, marking a significant cultural milestone for the band.
