Wadih El Safi, born Wadih Francis Safi on November 1, 1921 in Niha, Lebanon, was a Lebanese singer, composer, and oud player. He rose to prominence in the 1940s through Lebanese radio and early performance competitions before touring internationally, including performances for Lebanese diaspora communities in Brazil. Returning to Lebanon, he became a leading figure in the revival of Lebanese folk music, contributing patriotic and traditional works rooted in folk and zajal traditions. His repertoire includes songs such as "Loubnan ya qoteaat sama" and "Beyty". He collaborated with artists such as Fairuz and Nasri Shamseddine. He received numerous honors across the Middle East and Europe, including an honorary doctorate from the University of Kaslik. He died on October 11, 2013.
