Jessica Mimi Porfiri, known professionally as Kota Banks, and born on October 13, 1994, in Sydney, Australia, is a pop singer-songwriter and musician. She began singing at age nine and spent her late childhood and teens in Florence, Italy. Banks released her debut single "N.F.F.A." in 2016. Her second single "Holiday" appeared in 2017. In November of that year, her music had accumulated over twenty million plays on music streaming platforms. She co-wrote Australia's entry for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017, "Speak Up", performed by Isabella Clarke. Banks released her debut extended play, Prize, in mid-2018 under NLV Records and the single "Zoom" which received high rotation on Triple J. Following the release of Prize, Banks announced her debut national headline tour, selling out her hometown show. In 2019, she began releasing music under Sony Music Entertainment Australia. Her subsequent releases include Sweet and the Spice (2020) and "Mutual XO" (2022).
