K-pop girl group S.E.S is comprised of three members: Sea (Choi Sung-hee, also known as Bada), Eugene (Kim Yoo-jin), and Shoo (Shū Kunimitsu, also known as Yoo Soo-young). Established in 1997 under the management of SM Entertainment, the trio quickly achieved fame with their debut album I'm Your Girl and its leading track "(Cause) I'm Your Girl," which secured the 25th spot on the charts and earning them Rookie of the Year at the 1998 Golden Disc Awards. This breakthrough marked the beginning of a trend for subsequent generations of Korean pop groups, gathering momentum with Sea & Eugene & Shoo in 1998, featuring the track "Dreams Come True," an adaptation of a song by the Finnish band Nylon Beat. Subsequent albums including Love (1999), A Letter from Greenland (2000), and Choose My Life-U (2002) which all claimed top positions on local music charts. In 2001, the trio re-recorded some of their more popular Japanese songs in Korean, compiled in new record Surprise which went to number 3, followed by Friend later in the year, surprising their fans with unreleased track "S.II.S. (Soul to Soul)." In 2003, the group disbanded, after the release of compilation album Beautiful Songs. The three artists, engaged in solo careers as well as roles in film and television, came together once more in 2007 to commemorate S.E.S.'s 10th anniversary on South Korean show Happy Sunday, however it would be a decade before they would make a musical comeback with gold-certified album Remember (2017), led by the double title tracks "Remember" and "Paradise," before returning to their respective solo careers.
