Mourad Hayan, known as Oula West, is a Moroccan rapper, beatmaker and producer born in Agadir. At the age of 14, after moving to Casablanca, he discovered rap and recorded his first track. Unsatisfied with the result, he set up his own studio and learned music composition. In 2016, he released his first mixtape Overdose, where he evokes his personal difficulties. He then joined the Oudrari label and collaborated with several artists. In 2018, he took part in OMG, a landmark track on the Moroccan rap scene. Oula West works with rappers such as ElGrandeToto on M9adam (2020), Madd on Wild (2021) and Shayfeen on Fusion (2022). He also opens up internationally with La Fouine on Code (2019) and Lacrim on Brouillard (2023). Today, he continues to evolve in rap with an assertive musical identity.
