Dutch flute prodigy Lucie Horsch came to international attention at the age of fourteen. Born in Amsterdam in 1999, she began playing the instrument at the age of five, and appeared on stage four years later at the annual Kinderprinsengrachtconcert, broadcast on Dutch television. She studied recorder with Walter Van Hauwe and piano with Marjest Benoist and Jan Wijn at the Amsterdam Conservatory, when in 2014 she entered the Eurovision Competition for Young Musicians. Two years later, Lucie Horsch was awarded the Young Talent Prize by the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and began an international career as a professional soloist. One of the most gifted flutists of her generation, she signed with the Decca label and recorded her first album, Vivaldi: Recorder Concertos (2016), with the Edison Prize-winning Amsterdam Vivaldi Players ensemble. Her second recording, Baroque Journey (2019), sees her accompanied by The Academy of Ancient Music and wins an Opus Klassik. Honored with the Nederlandse Muziekprijs by the Dutch Ministry of Culture, Education and Science, in 2022 the flutist signs the Origins recital, oriented towards early and traditional music, with the Fuse ensemble and the Ludwig Orchestra, then in 2024 the tribute The Frans Brüggen Project, with the Orchestre du XVIIIe Siècle.
