Paula Frazer is an American singer-songwriter who was born in Georgia in 1963. She is famous for fronting the band Tarnation in the 1990s and for her eclectic musical style blending alternative country, folk, and blues. Frazer relocated to San Francisco in 1981 and performed with ensembles including Cloiter, Frightwig, and Trial. She achieved professional recognition as the leader of Tarnation, which released the debut studio recording I'll Give You Something to Cry About (1993). Her discography with the group includes the studio recordings Gentle Creatures (1995) and Mirador (1997). As a solo artist, she released the studio recordings Indoor Universe (2001), A Place Where I Know (2003), and Leave the Sad Things Behind (2005). In 2006, she resumed the use of the Tarnation name and released the studio recording Now It's Time (2007). Frazer has collaborated with artists including Cornershop, Sean Lennon, and Tindersticks.
