Hit the Lights, an American pop punk band from Lima, Ohio, formed in 2003. The group released their first EP, Leaving Town Tonight, in 2004, followed by Until We Get Caught in March 2005 on Silent Movie Records. They signed with Triple Crown Records, which reissued Until We Get Caught later that year and released their first studio album, This is a Stick Up... Don't Make it a Murder, in 2006. In June 2007, lead singer Colin Ross left the band, and Nick Thompson took over as lead vocalist. In July 2008, they released their second full-length album, Skip School, Start Fights, featuring the single "Stay Out". Hit the Lights signed with Universal Republic Records in 2010 but parted ways in May 2011. They released the Invicta EP on Razor & Tie Records in 2011 and Summer Bones on Pure Noise Records in 2015. On September 20, 2022, guitarist Kyle Maite died in a truck accident.
