Shellie Morris is an Indigenous Australian singer who began her musical journey at a young age. Raised in Sydney, she moved to Darwin to connect with her indigenous family and completed a Certificate 3 in Contemporary Music at N.T.U. She collaborated with producer Glen Heald for over a decade, resulting in the albums Shellie Morris (2000) and Waiting Road (2006). Morris was named Best Female Musician at the Northern Territory Indigenous Music Awards in 2004 and 2005. She has worked extensively with indigenous communities, helping to write music about their experiences. In 2013, she released Ngambala Wiji Li-Wunungu – Together We are Strong, which won multiple awards including the National Indigenous Music Award for Traditional Music and Song of the Year. Morris was appointed as an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2023.
