Shook Twins, a folk music group from Sandpoint, Idaho, was formed in 2004 by identical twin sisters Katelyn and Laurie Shook. The duo began their musical journey at a young age, joining the choir in fifth grade and continuing through high school. In 2004, they took a year off from college to play their first paid gig at a restaurant, marking the beginning of their professional music career. Their debut album You Can Have the Rest was released in 2008. The sisters moved to Portland, Oregon, in December 2009 and released their second album Window in April 2011. Notable songs from this period include "Rose," featured on NPR's The Muse Mix: 100 Songs That Cry Her Name. In 2014, they released the albums Unreleased Live Tracks and What We Do, which included the song "Shake." The group has toured extensively, performing at festivals and venues across the United States.
