Tekove, a Paraguayan folk group, was formed in Asunción in 2013. The band initially consisted of Melissa Hicks (vocals), Juanchi Álvarez (violin), and Fernando Garbarino (guitar). They began performing together at concerts, including a notable tribute to Lorenzo Álvarez. Eduardo Báez (keyboard), Juan Pablo Giménez (bass), and Eduardo Benítez (drums) later joined the group. Tekove released their debut album Pohã ro'ỹsa para el alma in 2016, featuring traditional Paraguayan music along with an original track "Lustrabotas" by Ramón Hicks. The album was launched at a concert in Asunción's Banco Central del Paraguay. Their second album, Cosechando, followed in 2019. Notable singles include "Kuña Guapa" (2020) and "Llegó la Navidad" (2019). In 2021, they released Navidad Paraguaya. The group has also been declared as Artists of the Month by the Sociedad de Gestión de Productores Fonográficos del Paraguay in May 2016.
