Akito Nakatsuka is a Japanese video game composer and sound director employed by Nintendo. He began his career in 1984, composing the scores for Devil World, Clu Clu Land, and Excitebike. In 1985, Nakatsuka composed the music for Ice Climber, followed by Zelda II: The Adventure of Link and Punch-Out!! in 1987. His compositions for Zelda II were later featured in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Nakatsuka also composed the soundtracks for NES Open Tournament Golf (1991) and Heisei Shin Onigashima (1996). His later professional activity included sound programming for Sutte Hakkun (1998) and serving as a coordinator for Super Mario Bros. Deluxe (1999). Nakatsuka co-composed Daigasso! Band Brothers (2004) and Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day! (2005). He served as a sound supervisor for Wario Land: Shake It! (2008) and as a supervisor for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U (2014).
