Thomas William Schuman (born January 31, 1958) is an American fusion, jazz, and smooth jazz keyboardist, composer, and arranger from Buffalo, New York. He joined the group Spyro Gyra at age 16, performing on every album in the band's discography and serving as a longtime co-leader. Schuman authored or co-authored over 60 compositions for the ensemble, beginning with the 1980 album Catching the Sun. His work on albums such as Morning Dance (1979) and Breakout (1986) contributed to the band’s 13 Grammy nominations and four wins for releases including Wrapped in a Dream. Schuman produced nine solo albums through his label, JazzBridge Music, including Extremities (1990) and I Am Schuman (2024). He has collaborated with artists such as Jason Miles, Steve Oliver, and Yusef Lateef. Schuman resigned from Spyro Gyra in March 2023 to relocate to Europe.
