Vibeke Saugestad, born on February 5, 1976, in Genoa, Italy, is a Norwegian singer. She began her musical career in Moss, Norway, as part of the girl band Avslørte Bondepiker. At 16, she joined Weld, which won the Spellemannprisen for Best Newcomer Band in 1994 with the album Natural Tools. Saugestad's popularity surged, leading to a high-profile advertising campaign with Tine. She left Weld in 1998 and pursued studies at the University of Oslo while performing with bands like Thelyblast and The Yum Yums. In 2001, she signed with Sony Music, releasing Into the Shimmering. Her subsequent album, Overdrive, was released by Universal Music in 2003. Saugestad received the Kulturpris Moss in 2001 for her contributions to music.
