Suneeta Rao, born on April 5, 1967, in Germany to a Telugu-speaking family, is an Indian pop singer. She gained fame with the release of the Hindi pop album Dhuan in 1991. Her hit single "Paree Hoon Main," which sold over 75,000 copies. Rao collaborated with A.R. Rahman on the song "Adi Paru Mangatha" from the 1994 Tamil film May Madham. She released multiple albums, including Talaash in 1996 and Ab Ke Baras in 2000, which blended traditional folk music with modern production values. Rao has been actively involved in social initiatives such as Laadli, organized by Population First, focusing on saving the girl child and population control.
