caroline are an eight-piece post-rock collective from London known for their genre-defying sound that blends post-rock, folk, minimalist classical, and ambient influences. Formed in 2017, the band began as a trio—Jasper Llewellyn, Mike O’Malley, and Casper Hughes—before evolving into a larger ensemble whose collaborative ethos and experimental spirit define their music. Their self-titled debut album, released in 2022 on Rough Trade Records, was met with critical acclaim for its emotional depth and intricate arrangements. With sprawling, meditative tracks that build slowly through repetition and texture, caroline have drawn comparisons to acts like Godspeed You! Black Emperor, The Dirty Three, and Talk Talk. Released in 2025, the band's second album, caroline 2, was a critical success and cemented the band's status as purveyors of original post-rock music.
