Dorothy "Dottie" Peoples, born on August 12, 1950 in Dayton, Ohio, is an American gospel singer. After completing high school, she toured with gospel pioneer Dorothy Norwood. In the late 1970s, Peoples relocated to Atlanta and returned to her gospel roots. Her debut album Surely God Is Able was released in 1984. She gained significant chart success with Live: Featuring "On Time God" (1995), which peaked at Number 3 on Billboard's Top Gospel Albums chart and remained there for 112 weeks. Peoples has performed at notable events, including the inaugural Bonnaroo Music Festival with Widespread Panic in 2002, singing "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the 1996 Olympics, and performing "He's an On Time God" at the memorial service for John Lewis. She received an honorary Doctor of Sacred Music from the Global Evangelical Christian College. Her album I Got This: Live! was released in 2013.
