The GrauSchumacher Piano Duo, consisting of German pianists Andreas Grau and Götz Schumacher, is a piano duo formed in 1981 when they began performing together at age 15. The duo gained significant recognition after winning the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb in 1989 and the Schubertwettbewerb in Graz in 1992. The GrauSchumacher Piano Duo performed at prestigious venues including the Philharmonie Berlin, Tonhalle Zürich, and Concertgebouw Brügge. They collaborated with renowned orchestras such as the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester and SWR Sinfonieorchester, and conductors like Roberto Abbado and Michael Gielen. They released over 30 CDs on labels NEOS, col legno, and WERGO, featuring works by composers from Schütz to Stockhausen.
