Throne of Chaos, a Finnish heavy metal band from Espoo, was formed in 1996. Their early sound, as heard on their debut EP Fata Morgana (1997) and subsequent album Menace And Prayer (2000), featured melodic death metal elements reminiscent of Children of Bodom. The band's second album, Pervertigo (2002), showcased a shift towards thrash and progressive metal influences. For this release, session vocalists Pasi Nykänen and Niklas Isfeldt were brought in due to Taneli Kiljunen’s throat injury. Their final album, Loss Angeles (2003), saw the band shorten their name to TOC and featured Tuomas Nieminen on vocals alongside occasional harsh vocals from Kiljunen. Despite these changes, Throne of Chaos struggled to achieve commercial success and disbanded in August 2005.
