Daniel Jacob Haugaard is a Danish-Faroese comedian, musician, and actor born on May 12, 1952, in Tvøroyri, Faroe Islands. He began his musical career in 1977, recording material that combined comedy, singing, and instrumental performance. Haugaard became known for performing in gaudy suits while playing a homemade guitar. In 1984, he began a collaboration with entertainer Finn Nørbygaard as the duo “Finn & Jacob”. Haugaard served as a leader in the “Union of Deliberate Work-avoiding Elements” (SABAE) and ran for parliamentary elections as an independent starting in 1979. He was elected to the Danish Parliament representing Aarhus in 1994 and served until 1998. During his term, his campaign promises included the implementation of Nutella in military field rations. He also produced radio, films, and television programs, mostly involving comedy sketches.
