Bökkers, a Dutch band from Salland in the province of Overijssel, was founded in 2010 by Hendrik Jan Bökkers. The group initially performed cover versions of Normaal under the name Bökkers Dut Normaal. In 2010, they shortened their name to Bökkers and began writing original material in Sallands, a local variant of Nedersaksisch. Their discography includes albums such as Bökkers (2011), Morattamottamotta (2013), Humme (2014), Blixer Elixer (2015), and Live & Knetterhard (2016). One of their notable achievements was the 2017 inclusion of Catch & Release in the Top 2000, an annual Dutch radio chart show. The song, a cover version of Matt Simons' "Catch & Release," has remained in the charts since its debut.
