Opa Tsupa, a French jazz group inspired by 1930s swing and humorous music, was formed in 2000. The quintet initially blended swing manouche with Romani music, evolving their style through various genres like bluegrass and western swing. Their theatrical performances became a signature trait, featuring comedic elements that made them stand out. The band's debut album, Opa Tsupa, jazz manouche quintet (2000), was followed by Trois francs six sous (2002) and Bastringue (2006). They performed extensively across France and Belgium, appearing at notable festivals such as the Francofolies de La Rochelle and Django Liberchies. After a 15-year career marked by over 600 concerts, the group disbanded in 2015 with a farewell concert at L'Agora.
