Tipping Point is an experimental contemporary jazz quartet from England, founded in 2013 by James Mainwaring. All members—James Mainwaring, Matthew Bourne, Michael Bardon, and Joost Hendrickx—are alumni of Leeds College of Music. The group released their debut album, The Earthworm’s Eye View, in September 2015 on Lamplight Social Records. John Fordham described it as "Playful, dark, skilful and spontaneous" in The Guardian, while Daniel Spicer of Jazzwise noted “moments of collective beauty.” The Earthworm’s Eye View was recognized as one of the best albums of 2015 by both Jazz on 3 and The Guardian.
