Easy-Listening, Relaxing, Solo Piano Music...
Earl Johnson is a passionate solo pianist, teacher, arranger, and composer in Los Angeles, California. His love for piano began at the age of twelve when he took private lessons in West Hills, CA. He played piano for the chapel band at school during his middle and high school years, and fostered his talents further by studying music theory and harmony in college.
After college, Earl decided to experiment with music composition. His musical endeavors excitingly led him to build his own home studio in 2012, where he began to compose, produce and edit his works. Overtime, Earl’s distinct easy-listening play style took shape, and is best defined as New Age or Contemporary, though has a hint of classical and jazz undertones at times; much of which can be heard in his first album, Reflections, released in 2014.
After his first album released, Earl then spent a majority of his time working, teaching piano, and simply enjoying life. It wasn’t until six years later in early 2020 that he decided to jump back into the composing wagon again! He realized that his love for making music had never left him, and it was that year in which he decided to take his composing seriously. From April to September of 2020, he created and released his next album: Continuance featuring another 15 original compositions. It was this album that truly solidified his sound as a composer. Later that year, Earl released a remastered edition of his first album, Reflections now featuring his signature crystal clear piano used across all his works. Not resting there, Earl set his sights on his next most ambitious project yet; Dawn, a solo piano album told through the lens of a fantastical storybook, and was released in July of 2021.
He is currently working on his 4th album: Love & Loss (to be released in 2022) that will examine the burning emotions of romance and heartbreak.
