Bienvenue sur la Page Facebook Officielle de l'Artiste Gospel Anna Teko
Born on September 15, 1982 in Lokossa, Benin, Anna Tèko grew up in a music-loving family. Her mother, brothers and sisters were all musicians, and she began singing at the age of 4. The singer won a prize at the UNESCO Festival of Arts and Culture in Cotonou for her song "Paix dans le monde", and continued her commitment by musically supporting a UNICEF vaccination campaign with "Vaccinez-vous! Influenced by female singers such as Miriam Makeba, Whitney Houston and Céline Dion, she took part with the group Tekstars in the recording of a gospel album, Iri Kpe, in 1998. Anna Tèko moved to France in the early 2000s to perfect her technique, as she opened up to more theatrical performances, particularly musical comedy. A single was released in 2006, "Réconciliation", inspired by the rhythms of reggae, then she was produced by José Versol, a traditional musician from Martinique, and opened up to West Indian music on "Ta douce voix " (2010). The track was awarded the SACEM prize for best spiritual song in 2011, and galvanized the singer into presenting the album Mon miracle in 2012. This time, as she leans towards West Indian biguine, spirituality takes on greater scope and becomes a distinctive feature of Anna Tèko. Influenced as much by Creole music as by traditional Beninese music, her specific approach to gospel is expressed on numerous albums, including Totale adoration (2014), Kafu kafu (2016) and Un si grand amour (2018), and Anna Tèko was crowned Best Artist of Benin in 2015.
