Damon J. Blackman, known professionally as Dame Grease, was born on August 9, 1974, in New York City and is an American record producer and songwriter. He began his career in the mid-1990s, gaining recognition through production work with Bad Boy Records and The LOX. In 1996, his production helped The LOX secure a deal with Puff Daddy's Bad Boy Records, contributing to their debut album Money, Power & Respect, including the hit "We'll Always Love Big Poppa". Dame Grease also produced 13 tracks on DMX's debut album It's Dark and Hell Is Hot (1998), establishing Ruff Ryders Entertainment's image. He also composed music for films like Exit Wounds (2001) and Cradle 2 the Grave (2003). After a hiatus in the mid-2000s, Dame Grease returned in 2007 with productions for DJ Drama and Freeway. He also released his own albums, including Goon Musik (2011) and Diary of Wave God (with Massfivestar) (2016).
