Pavel Grigorievich Egorov, born on January 8, 1948, in Leningrad, was a Russian pianist known for his extensive career in classical music. He studied at the Moscow Conservatory under Tatjana Nikolaeva and Vera Gornostaeva, graduating in 1975. His breakthrough came in 1974 when he won the Robert-Schumann-Wettbewerb in Zwickau before completing his studies. Egorov's career spanned over three decades, during which he performed more than 3000 concerts across Europe, Canada, China, and Japan. Egorov was also a prominent music educator at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory. He received several awards, including the Robert-Schumann-Preis in 1989 and the Order for Cultural Merit of Poland in 2003. Egorov passed away on August 15, 2017.
