Paul Gaston Poulet, also known as Gaston Poulet, born on April 10, 1892, in Paris, was a French violinist and conductor. He studied at the Conservatoire national de musique et de déclamation and earned a first prize in violin in 1910. Discovered by Pierre Monteux, Poulet joined the Ballets Russes as the first violinist. In 1926, he founded Concerts Poulet at Salle Pleyel to promote contemporary composers. He directed the Conservatoire de Bordeaux from 1932 to 1944. Poulet also founded the Festival de musique de Besançon in 1948, which gained international recognition. He later taught at the Conservatoire de Paris until 1962. His notable recordings include Camille Saint-Saëns' Concerto N°3 En Si Mineur, Op. 61 Pour Violon Et Orchestre with Yehudi Menuhin. Gaston Poulet passed away on April 14, 1974, in Draveil.
