Maryslim is a Swedish alternative rock band formed in Stockholm in 1999, when members Mats Olsson and Kent Axén met at a rock concert. The initial lineup included Olsson on vocals and guitar, Axén on guitar and backing vocals, Patrik Jansson on drums and percussion, and Urrke T on bass. The band gained recognition through live performances across Sweden and signed their first record deal with White Jazz Records in 2001, releasing the single "Nothing In Common" and their self-titled debut album. In 2002, they moved to Wild Kingdom Records and released the live album Live N' Loaded, featuring Peder Carlsson on the track "High N' Loaded." Subsequent albums included Split Vision (2004) and A Perfect Mess (2007), the latter featuring a cover of The Sisters of Mercy’s "This Corrosion" with guest vocals by Jyrki 69 of The 69 Eyes. In 2008, bassist Urrke T departed the band, with Peter Henriksson filling in for remaining shows.
