Circus Lupus was an American post-hardcore band formed in Madison, Wisconsin, in 1990. The group consisted of Chris Thomson on vocals, Arika Casebolt on drums, and Chris Hamley on guitars. They initially released a single through Cubist Records before moving to Washington, D.C., where they signed with Dischord Records. Their debut album, Super Genius, was released in 1992, followed by the single "Circus Lupus" produced by Joan Jett. The band's second and final album, Solid Brass, was released in 1993. After disbanding in 1993, members went on to various projects, including Antimony, Las Mordidas, Monorchid, and The Quails. Circus Lupus' work influenced bands like Ink & Dagger and The Fall on Deaf Ears.
