No-Man, an English art-pop duo, was formed in 1986 by singer Tim Bowness and multi-instrumentalist Steven Wilson. Initially a solo project by Steven Wilson, the band evolved into a collaborative effort with Tim Bowness after he joined in 1987. Their debut single "The Girl from Missouri" was released in mid-1989 under Plastic Head Records. The duo shortened their name to No-Man and gained significant attention with the single "Colours", which received critical acclaim and led to a long-term music publishing agreement with Hit & Run Music Publishing. In 1992, they signed with One Little Indian and released their debut mini-album Lovesighs – An Entertainment. Their first full-length album, Loveblows & Lovecries - A Confession, followed in May 1993. No-Man's music spans various genres, including art rock, ambient, trip hop, and contemporary pop. The band followed up with albums Flowermouth (1994), Wild Opera (1996), Dry Cleaning Day (1997), ((Speak)) (1999), Returning Jesus (2001), Together We're Stranger (2003), Schoolyard Ghosts (2008), and Love You to Bits (2019).
