Erdal Erzincan is a Turkish Alevi folk musician, composer, and educator who was born in 1971. He achieved professional recognition as a student of Arif Sağ and is famous for developing the şelpe technique, a method of playing the bağlama without a plectrum. Erzincan established his own music school in Istanbul and has spent over two decades shared his expertise with students, including the Erdal Erzincan Bağlama Orkestrası. His discography includes the studio recordings Töre (1994), Garip (1996), and Ağaçname (2022). He is noted for significant collaborations such as Concerto For Bağlama (1998) with Arif Sağ and the instrumental recording The Wind (2006) with the Iranian kamancheh player Kayhan Kalhor. His published works include the instructional book Bağlama Metodu (2009) and the collection Bağlama İçin Besteler (2019).
