DaYTona, a French rock band from Lyon, was formed in the early 2000s following the dissolution of Surfer Rosa. Influenced by Anglo-Saxon groups and American bands like Pixies and Sonic Youth. DaYTona released their debut album L’heure de vérité in 2000, featuring compositions in French that garnered national critical acclaim. The group's second album, La Peau douce, released in 2004, was supported by media outlets such as Le Mouv’ and France Inter, leading to notable performances at venues like Le Transbordeur and Théâtre Antique de Vienne. After a hiatus due to member departures, DaYTona returned in December 2010 with the album La Parenthèse, which included collaborations with Nicolas Bonnière and Edith Fambuena. The group even received the blessing of former Keeper of the Seals, Robert Badinter, for the use of an excerpt from his famous abolitionist speech. The single "17 septembre" was co-produced by ECPM. In 2018, DaYTona released their album L'allégresse.
