The Lovetones are an Australian psychedelic rock band from Sydney and Melbourne. They debuted with Be What You Want (2003), released through Bomp! Records' The Committee to Keep Music Evil imprint, which received reviews in Creem and Rolling Stone. Following extensive touring in Australia and supporting Morrissey on his first solo Australian tour, the band contributed to Fire Records' James Joyce Chamber Music project in 2003 alongside Mercury Rev, Sonic Youth, and Peter Buck. They released the Stars EP (2003), followed by their second album, Meditations (2005), which they promoted with a European tour with The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Their later releases include Axiom (2007) and Dimensions (2008). After reuniting for a concert in Sydney in 2015, The Lovetones returned with the single "Way the Light Dances" in 2022.
