Manolita Arriola, born Manuela Arriola López on March 6, 1919 in El Rosario, Sinaloa, Mexico, was a singer and actress. She began her music career with singles such as "Rancho alegre / Guadalajara" and "Serenata tropical / Amor perdido" released in 1940. Manolita Arriola gained popularity in 1940 through her recordings of notable works from Rafael Hernández and Pedro Flores including "Serenata tropical", "Amor perdido". She was known for her versatility in singing various genres such as bolero, ranchera, and tango. In the 1940s, she became the first Mexican singer to wear the traditional "china poblana" costume during a tour of South America with Pedro Vargas. Her filmography includes roles in Juan sin miedo (1938), La virgen roja (1943). She passed away on October 27, 2004 in Mexico City.
