A Band Called Pain, an American heavy metal band from Oakland, California, was formed in 2001 by cousins Allen Richardson and Shaun Bivens. Their debut album Broken Dreams was released in 2006 and featured the single "The Pieces" with a music video. The song "Holy" appeared on the soundtrack for Saw II. The band is notable for being one of the few heavy metal bands consisting of four African American members. In 2008, Tony Providence left the band and was replaced by Akili Peyton the following year. After a hiatus starting sometime after 2010, A Band Called Pain reunited for a show in March 2019 and released their first EP since 2010 titled 56 Down on March 26, 2021.
