Kohta Takahashi, born 高橋 弘太 on October 5, 1972, in Japan, was a Japanese composer, musician, guitarist, and synthesizer programmer. Growing up with musical parents, he wrote his first composition at age six or eight, titled "Umai". Aiming to enter the game industry as a programmer, Takahashi sent demo tapes of his college music work to Namco, which led to his acceptance. His breakthrough came with Ace Combat 2, where he served as lead composer, crafting a soundtrack inspired by funk rock and Top Gun. He contributed to titles like R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 and Klonoa: Door to Phantomile. Takahashi left Namco in 2001 but resumed freelance work in 2002, contributing to games such as the console version of Tekken 5 and Ridge Racer 6. He released solo albums including Kohta Takahashi's Fuckin' Sounds, REIWA TYPE 4, and Reiwa Type V.
