Brian Roy Haas, born on March 18, 1974 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is an American jazz pianist. He began studying classical piano at age five and won local competitions, including the Oklahoma Concerto Competition at sixteen. He also performed with the Tulsa Philharmonic. After receiving a scholarship to study classical music at the University of Tulsa, Haas shifted his focus to jazz. In 2005, he signed with Rykodisc/Hyena Records, releasing his debut album The Truth About Hollywood, which featured his compositions and covers of Thelonious Monk's songs. Haas was also a founding member of the band Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, with whom he recorded a suite based on the Tulsa Race Riot in January 2011. In 2016, he joined the band Nolatet, composing notable tracks such as "No Revenge Necessary" and "Lanky, Stanky, Maestro".
